so i drive a 95 hatch si. i got a complete type r swap in there
i got a 2000 itr tranny in there with the lsd stamping and all.
just wondering if i was to spin the tire with the wheels off the ground, can it determine if it had lsd or not. because me and my friend did so and when we did it, only one wheel spun.
im afraid i got ripped off and the previous owner may have taken the lsd out of the tranny.

 

yeah you got ripped, both should spin

the car needs to be in gear to test this. jack it up, put it in first gear, spin a wheel. the other wheel should spin the opposite direction.

 

There you go RTW. Both wheels will not spin when the car is in the air and in neutral.

This isn't any easier but if you ever have the axle out of it you can tell if it has a lsd as well. That is how i confirmed mine when replacing my clutch.

 

just checked and i do have lsd. *whew*
thought i got ripped off for a minute
