head lights for jdm itr headlights
I assumed he was installing a kit into non HID housings since he said he was converting. Retrofitting is always the best way to go and produces the best results (no glare, proper light pattern, etc.)

Uhhh.. every hid bulb is d2r or d2s. D2R bulbs are shielded while D2S bulbs are not. I would recommend you get the D2R style bulbs to cut down on the reflected glare as much as possible. Those are just types of bulbs. Now you need to know what style and I think he is correct with 9006 but someone who has it'll tell you for sure.

http://optionsauto.com/departments.asp?dept=54 follow the link and it will show you that there is a difference between the d2r, d2s, and 9006 bulbs. d2r and d2s might be every hid bulb but a 9006 bulb is not an hid bulb.

Most, but not every.

The D2R is intended for reflector housing usage, and really won't help improve the beam pattern when used in a halogen projector housing.
