Default AFR at idle?

Hi guys, i am wondering what is a ideal AFR for a D16Z6 at idle? I am running a temporary basemap right now and i noticed at idle my wide band goes off the scale lean, while this is good for fuel economy it makes a anoying random pop out my tail pipe, i moved the AFR from off the scale to around 15.5 and the pop has all but gone away, i was wondering if its ideal to richen the idle up even more?

If you richen it too much you would have bad fuel mileage and lots of burning fuel and i believe the 02 sensor code will throw a code.

did your stupid response answer the question at all? no. it didn't.

You can lean em out pretty good at idle, theres no load on the motor. Just tune it so its reasonably driveable and not popping all over town. also, what kind of exhaust do you have? if its pretty unmuffled that might be a big reason of why you're getting some popping sounds as well.

rich is better than lean in my book....after all lean is mean, but lean for too long and say goodbye to a piston or two.....

detonation almost NEVER happens at idle, theres no load on the motor, so why give it more fuel then it needs?

reeding iz harrd. learnding even harrderr!!

put a wideband on any stock car with a stock ecu, you'll see how lean it gets at idle. No load = min. cyl. pressure = no need for fuel.

Mine idle's great around 15.7. A/F at idle and A/F under a load are two different things.
