Default Quick Question about Non-HID ITR Headlights

This may be a stupid question. I seached but could not come up with anything definitive.

I am thinking about buying a dc-2 that has a NON HID JDM front. If i wanted to convert it to HID could i just buy a HID kit made for the NON hid housings or would i have to buy the JDM housings?? i have heard that someone on H-T makes this kit to convert non-HID to HID. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction?

thanks a bunch in advance.

Guy

The non-hid headlights use regular 9006 bulbs. Just buy an HID kit for 9006 and you are good to go.

Hello users again.... i am not going to do my usual explanation of all of this bc i feel like you could search and find it.

However... to the OP, your non-HID headlights are made for a halogen based bulbs and will not produce the same results if you just replace the bulb with aftermarket HID equipment.

To yield the same results as what a jdm 98+ HID headlight would achieve, you will need to perform what is called an HID-retrofit. Can't do it yourself......?

http://www.customlightz.com will help you with all of your needs.

You may be much better off selling what you have and trying to pick up a set of 98+ HID headlights though.

you should def get the 98+ hid housing. the non hids wont be able to distribute the light properly, unless you do some modification to the housing. might as well keep all the nice type arrrgh stuff unchopified.
