Default turbo s2k project..

well i have been working on turboing my s2k for the past few months. slowly buying/building the parts as i go, and i thought i would post up some progress so far.

manifold pics

i just threw on a t67 we had laying around for mock up on to show fitment.
we found a k&n filter that fits perfect in the little space available.

i didn't weld the manifold as it was a little more complex then i'm used to so i had one of the other guys take care of that.

i will be removing the oil pressure sensor when i install the aem.

i havn't decided yet as to what turbo i will be running. i'm stuck between a s256 and a s366, i know the 366 is quite a bit bigger but it would give me plenty of room to grow in the future.im shooting for 400 whp on the stock motor with arp's and maybe a thicker gasket, but idk.

i would have some pics of my intercoler but it has been backordered for the last few weeks but it should be here soon, hopefully haha it is 24x10x3.5 if i remember right

i'm using both the black tial 44mm wastegate and bov.My precision 1000cc injectors came in last week even though it says 950's lol

i will add some more pic's of progress as more stuff come's in and if i get off my *** and decide what turbo i want to run, i can get the dp and recurculated dump made this weekend.

santos- there will be a brace made with heim joints that will support the full weight of the turbo.

jdmaddict- no it has enough room, i have closed the hood and checked fitment on a s366 which has a larger housing then this turbo.

gdm s2k-the whole manifold, turbine side, dp, dt will be ceramic coated. also i plan on making a better heat shield then the stocker to help with the heat

papa5murf- yeah the car is a 03' with only 20k on it. i try not to drive it but in the summer it gets alot of miles. bought it in late 05' with 6500 on it.

140sx- ha it does look deciving in these pics. there is enough room to put a 45 an fitting and angle it toward the pan. so i will be doing that.

kinda funny that you had an AUT style cooling plate but the AEM v1 that relocates the filter way down in the bumper, hehe

Uhh yeah, stupid. Why you ask?

1. Your intercooler will more than likely block the cold air that will go through that section of the cooling plate and to your filter.
2. Who cares where you're drawing air from if you're turbo charged. It doesn't matter if your filter is getting hot or cold air, it's still going to be hot before it gets to the intercooler to be cooled.

the garage defend cooling plate was the first thing i did to the car along with the spoon radiator cap. but the spoon badge fell off 2 weeks after i put it on so there went the bling on that.

i got the intake for like $25 so i threw in on there but i took it off as it took me out of stock class at auto-x events, and the s2000 pwns at the auto-x... haha

the intercooler core came and if i get some time this week i will try and mock up the end tanks and see how it fits. it's a garrett core
