Default Co2 for your tires?

Anybody have any feed back on power tank? How much will the tire pressure go up during a hot day at Buttonwillow?

http://www.powertank.com

Thinking about getting one.

I thought teams used 100% N2 versus CO2. If you want to do this go to a welding supply place and buy or rent a small bottle. You would then get a regulator for it and be out alot less money. The bottle would probably be a dull green so no bling bling.

The N2 is an option, but it is high pressure N2, not liquid Co2. The liquid Co2 pressure will remain constant until there is no liquid left. ie a lot more power in the same size tank.

I checked welding shops the N2 regulator runs ~$100-150. Tank runs about the same. Grand total ~$300 anyway. Tank rental run $20 per week, but no one will rent me a regulator to do a test run with. I hate to spend $300 and not get the preformance I need.

Bascially a small tank (20 CF) .28 @ 2000 psi. That is not that much than my 6 gal (.8 CF) at 125 psi. 6 gal air tank, $35 @ Walmart.

But this isn't the reason you would use the CO2 over the N2. My tables of the gas properties are stored away for at least 2 more months but going on memory the temperature won't effect the N2 as much as CO2 and hence less pressure gain when hot.

True, but the Co2 is liquid in the container. So it will last longer...alot longer than the N2 tank.

Question is how much will Co2 expand in comparison to air?

N2 would be great but I don't think the N2 will last much longer than my 6 Gal air tank @ 125 Psi.

I heard from one guy on a 4wd board it gets 20 tire fills out of an N2 bottle, but it is one of those 6 foot tall bottles, and he fills big tires.
