Alternater Install
I have got b16a motor in my crx. I wonder if anyone has a crx with b16 in. IS it hard to take out?? Because the way I see it seem didnt have any room for me to work it. I dont want to take off the Intake Mainfold off for this. Is there any way around?? Any Suggestion?
Its been along time so I am guessing, I think I had to take out the drive axle on that side and do the work from the bottom, anyone?????
You should be able to do it without taking the half shaft out. What you need to do is to get the drivers side up on a jack stand, then take the drivers side wheel off, so you can see what your doing. You have to remove the alternator bolts on the top and bottom. Then you need to take the bracket, which the alternator mounts to, on the bottom, off. Their are a couple of bolts which hold the bracket to the block. After you get that bracket out of the way, you have to still get the alternator oriented so it will fit, but it will fit between the motor and the half shaft.
I have heard of people removing the master cylinder, the half shaft or the intake manifold, all three of which are a pain.

I have a b16 crx, Just like the old motor man, Remove the alternator brackets and it give alot of play and that way you can slide it out. Don't bother removing anything like axle or master CYL thats crazy! Once that bracket is off, Slide the new ALT in and assemble it while it in that position. Bracket back on block, ALT on bracket.
