Default 96 coupe h22 swap

hey guys, im going to swap and h22 in my civic, i have done swaps before in crx and such but never an H22, i have never dealt with an h22 and i know they make kits for an H2B swap, my question to you guys is how crappy are the H22 tranny's? just for comparisson use could it be compared to any B series tranny? basically what i want to know is would an H22 work out for racing/daily driving applications or would i be better off with a b series, thanks for the help guys

The stock h22 trannys were designed for a much heavier car then your civic. That's way some people complain that the stock trannys feel "vauge" when it comes to feedback. The other fault when using the stock tranny is the driveshaft geometry caused by the motor being mounted so far back in the engine bay. The angle between the tranny input shaft plane and the the knuckle is large enough to make axles snap at the cv joints during a full tilt turn. Even some after market axles still suffer from this problem but this is only case by case (from word of mouth, and on this forum).

The H2B kits were made in response to these two problems (as well as other reasons). The kits utilize the stock b series tranny position and axle geometry (that were designed for that chassis).
