it came on today when i got to school...also, when i rev up(an when i let the rpms decrease in the same rpms) between - 3800rpms n 4500 theres a rattling noise which has been going on for over a week even while parked, i havent seen any change in performance. however saturday i went to the track and 2 of my spark plug wires popped off during my launch which people say might have came loose during heating up the tires bc i had alot of wheel hop..i coasted down the rest of the track put them back on and ran 4 more times. i then drove back about 50miles to my house, filled up on gas last night (with shell 93) than drove about 20 miles to school and saw it on when i got to school. also, the maint required light has been on for about 4k miles and all i need to do is change the tranny fluid and the oil change in another 500 miles which would be less than a 5k mile oil change period.
questions are:
1. is it possible that when the spark plug wires popped off that it took a while for the light to come on?
2. or more likely that i didn't turn the gas cap 3 clicks when i put it back on?
3. should i change the tranny fluid, and oil and see if it goes off?
4. is there anything i should check visually, or just go straight to autozone?

to be on the safe side, head straight to autozone and get that code checked. Usually if it's the oil mantanence light, the light will come on for a brief period of time (during startup) just to let you know, hey change the oil, and then turn off. If you have a constant CEL then you need to get that checked. better to be safe then sorry.
