Car starts and dies when warm
So its only happened for the past week or so, once or twice a day. but its getting frustrating.
When my car is cold, it will fire right up, idle fine, run and drive fine.. Every once in a while it will throw code 2 if i drive it for quite a while. But when i shut it off warm, and try to restart it a few mins after that (while its still hot) it will fire right up, then slowly die. It will crank over and sound like it wants to fire, but won't fire. About 5-10 minutes later, it will start right back up and run like normal.
I've replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, and alternator (cause it died last week). A buddy of mine is saying he thinks it might be the fuel pump, but it doesn't sputter or hesitate at all when its running.
the car is a 90 crx si with an obd0 b16.
Any help is appreciated!

Me as well.
Here's how you can test it out when it dies:
1.) Turn key to II position
2.) You should be able to hear the fuel pump engaging, your CEL will be on. This happens for ~2 seconds or so.
3.) After the CEL goes off, you should hear a click come from near your clutch pedal.
4.) If you fail either of those tests, inspect your main relay.

ok just tried that, as soon as i turn the key to the II position, there is a click, my CEL comes on for about 2 seconds, and as soon as the CEL light goes off, theres another click.
I've never been able to hear my fuel pump priming, so im not 100% sure it does, but the car runs great, ALWAYS starts and runs when its cold. But when i shut it off for a quick trip to the gas station or something like that, it will fire right back up first try, then slowly die.. and not be able to start for about 5-10 minutes, it will crank and try, but its like its not getting fuel/spark. It's weird.
Then after sitting for however long, it fires right back up, and runs great, no sputtering, missing.. nothing.
I'm stumped.

bringing this back up, still doing it only when its warms.
A local Import shop said it could be ignition.. kinda vague, he said anything from distributor to just cap and rotor, igniter.. all that jazz.
So my question now is, is a cap and rotor interchangle-able from a newer distributor.. like can i buy a MSD cap and rotor for a newer b16 (del sol or civic si?) or will that not work?

Ok, ill pull the main relay tomorrow when i get off work, and check out the soldering, and re-solder if necessary. Hope that fixes it, if it still does it, im going to replace the igniter.
I'll let yall know by the end of this weekend what it was or wasn't haha.
thanks again.
