is an AP1 wheel able to be fitted and work on these model preludes?

 

No. S2K wheels will fit 5thGen's, but not 4thGen's..
Different sizes..

And why would the "Type R" be different than a Non-Type R?

I've never heard or seen of a Non-4thGen Prelude Wheel being put on a 4thGen Prelude.

I believe there was one user that was going to try changing the 4thGen Steering Column to a 5thGen Column, but haven't heard anything of it for a long time..

Maybe user "hu" or maybe he just posted in that thread.. I can't remember.. And sorry hu if I'm wrong..

I haven't for sure seen one.

The only wheel, besides an either USDM or JDM Prelude wheel, that I've seen is this one:



But I am not certain what this came off of myself..

 

that is the jdm wheel... They are all over canada lol. All the jdm 4th gens that are imported here have those exact ones.
