Hey for some reason the part that holds the top bolt of the distributor is broken, its a ceramic part that has a bolt in each corner vertically[IMG][/IMG],...i went to the junk yard and got me the part but now i cant take the one from the b16 out at all..i dont want to hammer it either, i got the part from a d series motor but they seem to be the same, by any chance, does that part on my particular motor even come out by removing the two bolts on the top???? help!!

 

you need to remove the valve cove and theres two more bolts on that holder..
i dont think the d series one will fit..
order a new one online..

I don't think it's the same part man. Pretty sure you have to take the valve cover off to get to the rest of it. You over tightened that top bolt, didn't you?

 

Thakns for the response...Damn i wish i would had read this before trying to go to my garage and give it another try at taking that out,...i just got back from taking the valve cover off and everything and i didnt see any bolts, i didnt look for any either but i doubt there was 2 more bolts in there, are you sure about it??? if you are ill go out there and try again....i dont think i overtightened that, it was like that after a while of driving it, dunno why..!!!

 

that honda automotive parts website you listed does not work, and in the acura website, i cannot find the part, at the dealership i was told its called a cam cap but they dont sell it by itself.

 

yes there are 2 more bolts that hold it in place. u have to remove the entire rail to take it off.
