I have a 1994 Integra carbon fiber hood that is cosmetically damaged. The clear coat finish wore off on some areas on the hood. Is there any way I can repair it to get it to look right. I want to keep the carbon fiber look, but I was told it may not be possible to get it to shine like the original clear coat did, and that my best bet was to repaint it the original color of the car. Can it be repaired in a way that I can keep the carbon fiber look?

sand it down, re clear coat/////then buff and glaze if needed....

 

and it will shine and look halfway decent after im done?

It will look good if you have the proper gun to spray with and a air compressor.If you didnt know what to do to fix it I doubt you will know what to do to spray it.Take it to a body shop it should run you 150-225 to get it done which is cheaper than buying a new hood.

your right i wouldn't trust myself respraying it... actually i know a guy that will do it for me for 50$.. he has a pretty expensive spray gun/compressor.. so hopefully that works out.. his concern was that if i recleared it how good the shine would be.. basically this thread is for me to determine if it was repairable or not to keep the look i want. i guess i can always repaint it granada black to match the car if nothing else works out..

damn using peanut butter... you just have to keep doing that over and over again. get it done right and sand it then re clear/glaze it.

 

I agree with ^

If you use peanut butter the maintenance is never ending but if done correctly and cleared all it needs is some soap and water every once in a while.
