Default Quaife LSD in S1 B series cable tranny--> wich parts do I need?

Hello tech-headz!

One of these days I'll be swapping my Y2 cable tranny on my 1991 EE9 Civic VT for a S1 cable tranny. But before that, I want to install a Quaife LSD. I have some questions:

- Wich parts do I exactly need? Can you give me specific partnumbers?
- Do I need to make any changes to the tranny itself (I heard some things about fitment problems of an ITR LSD in a cable B-series tranny; the tranny-casing needs to be altered???) Is this also the case with the Quaife LSD's?
- Any idea how much a new LSD would set me back?
- Who knows a trustworthy, good seller who is willing to sell the LSD to me and ship it to Europe?

I have searched HT but couldn't find what I was looking for. If you can help me out, that would be great!

Thanks,

Greets Marcell

I did this swap in my S1 tranny.
I just ordered the B16 LSD.
I was able to re-use the speedo gear, the bolts, and the bearings (They were in good shape)
In order to re-use them you will have to press the old bearings and speedo gear off. Then you will have to press them on the new Diff.
The only part I had to order was a shim. I don't remember the part number, but you could go to a Honda dealer to get it if you need one. You may luck out and not need it.
As far as modification to the case I had to file a small fin in the tranny case. The LSD is a little fatter and just touched it. When you lay the LSD into the case you will see what I am talking about.

Good luck.

Oh yes, I sure have more questions!

1: Where did you buy the Quaife LSD?
2: How much did it set you back?
3: Do you have the exact partnumber wich you bought?
4: Can't think of anything right now, but maybe I will lateron
5: Thanks man!

The place I bought mine is no longer around.

Part number is 60.309.160 Civic SI (B16) 99-02
You can find it on the quaife web site below

http://www.autotech.com/quaife/index2.htm

I did a quick search and found some sites that sell them.
You may be able to get more info on a good price from someone else on HT.
I didn't search the HT classifieds you may have luck there at a lower cost.

King Motorsports = $995.00
http://www.kingmotorsports.com...at=34

Laskey Racing = $925.00 (no shipping)
http://www.laskeyracing.com/shop/quaife.htm

Manufacturers Depot = $895.60

Hey I have been looking for this information some tine now, let's see if I have this correct.
The hydro B16 LSD will fit directly into the cable transmission e.g Y1,S1 J1 with little mods. I am not speaking about the YS1 as the internal is different.
What about the ring gear and pinoin gear will the non LSD ring gear for say the S1 transmission bolt directly unto the LSD. If it does not then what ring and pinion gears do I use.
