Default Before I order yet another set of 615's tomorrow, any other ideas?

I wanted more Re010's but they are non-existent so the next decent choice IMO for DD'n with decent grip and crappy treadwear are the Azenis 615's.

I checked out all the major tire distributers and nothing jump out at me. Any suggestions on anything new for stock 15's? Apperently the new RE01R's are great but don't come in a 15" yet.

thanks,
Matt

I'm stuck in the same boat as you. I wish the RE01R's came in wider sizes.
Have to stick with 615's.

especially for DD'n when you'll occasionally want good wet grip.

If your going to daily your car... the Kumho Ecsta SPT's are awesome. Good grip in dry or rain, no loud roid noise, and last 35-45k to the normal driver.

Thanks guys. I've got the Kumhos on the IS and they are great but I want something with a little more "bite" for the ITR.

re01r comes in 195/50-15, shorter tire than a 205 azenis or stockers, but it's the only 15"

have you considered the hankook rs2? My buddy has them and they have done him well for daily use and track days as well

as a longtime azenis fan (3 sets of RT215s and 2 sets of 615s), i can confidently say i can't be happier with making the switch from RT615s to RE01Rs. its hands down better in every single aspect. the only real downsides are they're more expensive and are a little noisier when new. i'm running 215/45R16s btw.

i noticed that the tires were very consistent on the track - never did they once become greasy or squirmy. besides the significant increase in grip, i was amazed by the way they held up to the abuse on the track where lesser tires would have definitely shredded themselves.

since 215/45R16s are not available here, i'll be going with 205/45R16s for my next set of RE01Rs through tirerack

Get some Dunlop Sport 9000's if you want a little more than the Kumho SPTs

I had a set of Kumho MXs, they were great tires. They'll long outlast a set of Azenis, and actually grip well in wet conditions as well.

Don't get me wrong, I love Azenis (I have damn 3 sets, haha), but they get rather annoying on a daily driver.
