Default bspt to npt adapter, need it?

just got my blox sandwhich adapter from blox to use with my stock oil pressure sensor.

now to recap the sensor is bspt thread and the sandwhich adapter is npt thread.

now how close are the two threads because my sensor seems to screw right into it no problem, question is will it seal properly?

or is my best getting the bspt to npt adapter?

thanks H-T

Well you got lucky and I'm guessing your fittings are either 1/2" or 3/4", because those are the only 2 sizes that have the same thread pitch between NPT and BSPT. NPT is National Pipe Thread tapered, which means the diameter of the threads tapers down towards the end, which makes it easier to attach pieces to each other. BSPT is British Standard Pipe Thread, which can be tapered or not tapered.

My guess is it will seal just fine if you use some teflon tape thread sealant on it.
