how do i replace differential carrier bearings?

Default how do i replace differential carrier bearings?

could somone tell me how big of a job and how hard it is to replace the differential carrier bearings on a 1990 honda crx SI? maby somone could tel me a rough idea of what needs to be done

You need to have the bearings taken off with a puller and re-installed with a press. Best to take it to a machine shop unless you have experience with it.

Take out transmission, take apart transmission, take out diff, pull bearings off with puller, press on new bearings with a press...

Easy job if you've taken out the tranny before, but its gonna be time consuming. Prolly best to wait if you can until the clutch goes out.

you can get the puller at harbor freight for about $70.. but they will need to be pressed back on. the job really isnt that hard if you have a helms manual.
