so there's a cover over the 6x9s in my 99 lude... and i tried prying it off, but it wouldnt come off. am i doing it wrong? is there something to unscrew or something? or is prying the answer, cuz i tried for a lil bit but to no avail. help?!

 

Get in your trunk and push the tabs up... you'll likely break something if you try to pull from the top. It's much easier to get in there with a screwdriver and push up on the clips.

you need to remove the rear seats first.

 

no screws or anything. just some muscle. it is a pain, but it will pop off.

yea i went under the speaker and saw some tabs, i tried pushing them out, it didnt work either. i tried that and prying it from the top. which one is more effective? cuz every way i pushed the tabs they would not budge one bit.

 

i usually pry the middle enough to get my four fingers under and pull with my hand. you really got to manhandle it though.
