I'm doing a minime swap soon (I better, the car is at 105,500; water pump/timing belt time). I have all the large parts I need, most of the small ones, some performance items, but I'm missing some of the tiny bits that were not on the intake manifold (stays and bolts, which I can get from Honda).
Of all the posts I've seen on this topic, I have never seen anyone changing the throttle cable. The cable must be different, as the throttle body on the Y7 is a downdraft and the Y8 a sidedraft; how can the existing throttle cable be routed and held onto the manifold?
I can go with a fancy Lokar cable, but am not sure if it will need to be modified anyway and don't want to spend 50 bucks on something I may not need (93-97 Del Sol -pull- cables go on eBay for around 25).

 

Wouldn't you clock the throttle assembly back in order to get the y7 cable to reach?

 

I used the Y7 throttle cable. It's a little bit longer than the Y8 throttle cable but I routed it toward the shock tower then bend it toward the throttle body and I tied it down using some cable tie. Use the existing bracket on the Y8 manifold to secure it to the manifold. If you need a pic let me know.

same i just used the y7 cable also.
