Can you use a stock OEM B20 head gasket in a 84mm sleeved GSR block?
Searched but still not quite sure. Can you use B20 head gasket in a 84mm sleeved GSR block without bore out the gasket? Thanks.

Technically, no. VTEC blocks and heads have a matching high pressure oil orifice. Non VTEC head gaskets do not seal that orifice, so you will have a major oil leak.

Here are pictures to illustrate my point. First, a GSR block. Note the extra hole in the red square:

Next, an LS block. No hole:

Don't be. It's what I use. Golden Eagle takes an OEM gasket and bores it. Better than any Cometic gasket I have ever tried or seen.

I would never ever run a cometic, but Its just that Ive heard so many horror stories about GE gaskets. I may give one a try- you seem to be the resident all motor guru

No you probably can't. GE gaskets arn't over bored they are cut. Laser cut I believe. And a very important part is keeping the bore concentric and the surrounding area free of scratches or blemishes. and if your thinking of cuting it, don't forget the stainless steel center. I would not recoment a DIY on this one unless you have the proper jig or tools. Also what's wrong with a cometic I've used them plenty on race and street motors with NO problems. I've also used a GE full virgin copper HG with plenty of issues
. but thats a different story. I personally like the Cometic because they keep that rise around the bore like factory. GE as they cut out wards they eliminate some of that raised part. But I have used the GE OEM cut with no Issue I think....... oh well best of luck
