Maybe a fuel filter problem. I have had 6 new civics and 1 used Desol. Have had a honda since 1979. Had one Mazda, and 3 Toyota trucks. There is usually a second fuel filter put on these vehicles by the dealer. Usually the hidden one (not listed in any manuals) is by the fuel tank. Had an old Toyota truck (got used) did the same thing. My husband replaced the fuel pump (told him fuel filter), worked for a while, then started crapping out. (told him fuel filter) He found 1 fuel filter, replaced, still a problem. He decided to take off fuel tank and clean it ---- there it was the hidden fuel filter!
Couple hundred dollars fixed by the $2 fuel filter.
Use good gas. We have never had this problem on vehicles we have bought new because I am a gas snob. Only use lower grade and off brands when nothing else is available.
