Blue Paint Code For "Spoon Blue"
I am wondering if anyone knows the paint code for "Spoon Blue" in the the picture below.

I know that the yellow is Phoenix Yellow Y-56, but I cannot seem to find the blue code. If it is a OEM color that would be awesome, but I've never seen it before on any paint charts.
I want to paint my 96 EX that blue with a black roof. I have seen this question asked a few times beofre in this forum and it was never answered. I've searched the recent and archived threads and all over google and yahoo. If anyone can point me in the right direction. That would be great.
About to email Spoon next. Thanks guys.

Well, I got in contact with Evan at Spoon Sports USA and he would not tell me the paint code. Bastard.
But he does sell it in quarts and gallons. And it's ******* expensive! A little over $520 a gallon with tax. I'm gonna try to talk him down when I got get my K20 VC and some other small stuff. It's gonna be sick though. I love that color.

I have done paint work on the spoon DC5. I have the color at my house i will try to get you the PPG color code soon. Its a profit reading off the original spoon paint. I'll get it to you.

Yeah, its pretty close, but it looks a little to bright to me. But then, it is a picture, so it's hard to tell. But thanks for the heads up on that thread man. Good looking out!

no problem dude I'am going to start looking for that color code now. I think it's just a custom color, there is no code I'am guessing. But please don't quote me I don't know.
When I read through his thread, he had said it was Laguna Seca Blue, which is a BMW color.
I know that the Spoon color is custom, and because it's "Spoon", it of course costs an arm and a leg for it. But I love that color and I'm willing to sell some blood for that ****.
I really just want to know how they lay it down. I am guessing they have some different colored primers and sealers to get the color exactly right.

Exactly. That's pretty much what I was thinking. But I WILL have that color on my car!

And what qualtiy paint runs for $4xx dollars a gallon. The only basecoat that I could think of around that area in price is BASF Glasurit.Lol but thats not just quality ,it's top of the line stuff there. Exotic car that use it is Ferrari,Lamborghini,Maybach...................
.I got a quote from albert kemp in south fl. That it is $550 with Glasurit base and Glasurit reducer.Yet when I asked for the full kit it added up to $1400 dollars.
Even the step down Basf Diamont kit retails around $750,and that's a full kit
.So I think sick boy 82 is just better off just trying to replicate the color.Or just get in contact with spoon again ,and ask them what paint company does there paint lol.I mean if you're going to pay $520 might as well know what paint you're putting on lol.But I'am done.

O.k. here is the deal. this is the code that i used. PPG DBC 16421. It's called old corp. blue. what i would say is, have a shop or dist. make a small amount and do a spray out. you might have to add somemore white to make it more "pastel". Spoon might have changed the color on the newer cars that they have built. anyway. thats the best i can do.

Cool, thanks a lot man. I will definitely be trying out a ton of colors and additives to make sure the color comes out just right. But this is a big help. Hopefully no one gets it done before me. Thanks again.
