Default Average Paint Job Cost

I'm looking into having my car painted. I'd like to know what you guys have paid for your paint jobs. I think it's going to cost me around $2000, which is pretty good given the body work. Tell me what you've spent. Oh, and I only want to know what you paid to have it done. I know it's cheaper to do it yourself.

Original color. Not painting jambs or under hood. Car is a 90 hatch, with black bumpers. Bumpers will be painted like the 90-91 Si. Zero rust. The only real body work problem is the roof. The sheet metal skin has seperated from the support pieces. It can be fixed. A new roof skin is $425, and alot of spot weld drilling to remove it.

Well, $250 if you go to Maaco, but BEWARE!!! See my other thread, they molded my bumper to the fenders/rest of the car and I can now never take off the bumper anymore. (I should have been more specific about what I wanted them to do though.)

plus maaco paint never looks very shiny afterwards. It's always like a matte finish; never shiney!! Especially if you get a metallic.

Not going to maaco. I had my old crx painted there. It actually held up pretty well for 2 years. Then the car was sold.

I see you live in Pismo Beach. I've been there. Very nice area and weather.
