Maybe check the AutoX/RR forum...
Get the rule book 1st....I know those SOLO2 guys can be whiners about mods.
My friend got Protested for "undercoating" on an STS car.

The engine swap already puts you in SM. Even an extreme all motor setup isn't going to make you competitive in that class. EVO's, Sti's, and BMW's pretty much rule that class.

You can be locally competative with it(maybe) but yah, Nationally you won't get very far. Although I know a B18c5 Hatch was in the top5 a couple years ago at Nationals. IIRC he was #4(#1 FWD) behind 3 M3's.

Even then, its going to be highly driver dependent, and the OP kinda sounds like a noob(no offense).

For sure....
I would just beat the crap out of a stock engine your 1st/2nd year....

learn to master driving your setup, suspension is huge, a tighter final drive is good, will you be running race gas? i would get some very aggressive mid range cams with good top end. If piston/valve clearance allows enough room, maybe mill the head and get a little more compression. Just my thoughts, im no expert FYI
good luck
