Default Prelude Bolt On

Ok currently I own a 97 Honda Prelude 5spd base. I am thinking about building up the car but I do not want to go all out on the Turbo/Supercharger/Internals because I realize how much I would be in debt and how un-experienced I am right now for that direction.

My plan is to increase the airflow by purchasing a Cold air induction down towards the wheels to bring in more air then a simple CAI (AEM). I also am thinking about either upgrading my throttle body or boring my current one out. I want to upgrade the manifold but I do not really know which brand would be best and I would like a really nice H/E. My final step to this is to purchase a nitrous wet kit 70 shot. If I could get some direction I would really appreciate it because I realize how much money you can waist in building and I would like to get the best for my money. Bash my ideas, compliment, but most of all I will be the first to admit im a newb and just need a good direction to start out.

Oh also I am thinking about a light pulley set (AEM) because I want to keep my AC, PS, etc...

Hahahaha.....a 173k mile SH? No way!!!!!!!

AEM CAI
Vibrant header($500) or RACE header (SSR/HyTech/SMSP@$1k+)
2.5" exhaust with Vibrant muffler
Skunk2 Stage1 cams
NX nitrous kit
It just depends on what you want to spend.....
The research has been done, now you just have to spend the money and install!

The best thing you can do for now is read the FAQs...pulleys, intakes, throttle bodies, etc are not going to do much.

Sounds good, if I installed a I/H/E/T/Ignition it would not improve the life of the engine while using nitrous?

Yeah I thought that SH was overpriced but it looks good.

No, I don't know what that would do for the life of the engine other than <U>shorten</U> it. Ignition is the most worthles thing you can do on a Honda...

Performance parts don't usually make engines last longer.

Not if youre using nitrous.....or want a spark rev limiter instead of the stock fuel cutoff.
I used the MSD Dig6 with great success for nitrous....
I most def wouldn't say the MOST WORTHLESS thing.....

I always thought you'd be fine on nitrous if you adjusted your timing and had your plugs setup right....shows what I know, haha.

You're right about the most worthless thing...TB spacers, plug wires, Turbonators, etc come to mind

The life of the engine depends on well you can maintain it. You can also expect to blow your motor up with nitrous. Ive never used it, but thats what I have heard.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by integ_lude &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Sounds good, if I installed a I/H/E/T/Ignition it would not improve the life of the engine while using nitrous?

Well, plug wires are required for MSD boxes to work right.....trust me, I found this out the hard way.
TURBONATOR??? Dude.....35hp for $59.95 how can you go wrong?!
TURBONATOR DYNO
The nice thing about the MSD box for Timing Reatrd is that it ONLY retards when you spray. I was running -3 to -4* when I was using a 100 shot. With a 75 shot you can get away without it though.
