Haha...it's me again. The guy who asks about how to make a magnaflow louder =]

Anyway, I came across many...many CHEAP $20ish modules that claims to supposedly improve the performance (horse power/torque) of the car you insert it to. It's a chip.

Do these actually work? I came across 5$ ones, 10$ ones, 30$ ones, and they claim to increase horsepower by 20+ and torque also. They also claim to not ruin your engine, etc. etc. AND....it comes with a warranty and 100% full money back - shipping also.

Too good to be true? Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it fake? Is it real? How does it work? How does it not work?

They are garbage, and a scam. Unless they have dyno charts from reputable dyno facilities I wouldnt spend any cash. You get what you pay for. The one I have expirience hook up to your intake air temp sensors tricking the computer that theres is colder air than whats really coming in claiming that causes advancing your ignition and dumping more fuel into the cylinders.

 

C'mon man use your head.. If you could really get horsepower for 86 cents/horsepower, who the hell would put down $3500 to gain ~50 whp out of a supercharger? This goes past common sense...

 

Yea you guys are right...it's just that the 100% money back garantee in huge, bold, caps letters got me haha. -_-


I'l make a new post about how to improve and get the best of a non-si civic sedan horse-power/speed wise without having to install a turbo.

do you realize how many fraudulent companies offer so called money back guarantees? The FTC can't even keep up with them.

While several companies won't ever honor those claims (it's hard to fight someone over the internet), but a lot of them sell such cheap **** they figure a lot of the time a person wont' even be bothered to return it.

so about those little "chips" heres a little example of a stupid friend of mine...

He bought one of those venom boxes that claimed to do the same thing but was a 25% HP gain for 150$... After about a month of me telling him not to f-ing do it...

He did it... umm to make a slong story short... he said, "wow this thing makes a huge difference"... a week later he was towing his car away after he literally tore pretty much every internal in his motor to shreds.
