Default $500 paint job

I'm having my car painted today for $500 which includes primer, paint, and a clear....is this a good price? I dropped it off yesterday and I'll get it back today at 5pm. I have a feeling that is pretty quick for a paint job.

500 does not even cover the paint or primer from a body shop to paint a whole car. Does not cover the labor eather. Sounds like they just taped everything off and ran over the car with a grey scratch pad (hopefully) Good luck with the outcome. Post some pics. And ask before you do next time LOL.

It all depends on what brand they are using. At work they pay about 40 for a gal. of Nason clear and I pay 200 w/ hardener for PPG. Ofcourse there is a big difference in quality but you get what you pay for. I charge around 750 for a base/clear with PPG materials, so I would think that they are using something on the cheaper side. I wanna see this thing when you get it back. And a day sounds like they are rushing things unless your car is the only one they are working on if done right.

they basically said they weren't very busy...they even drove me home when i dropped off the car. it looks pretty nice for $500. there is some overspray here and there but not too bad...they painted my mudguards!! I guess i couldn't complain for $500. As soon as i can find my camera i can email pics..i dont have an online site to post them...

^^^^
I was going to point that out as well. I wonder how long the paint will last on the front mudflaps. Looks nice in the pics but you can't always go by them.

there is overspray here and there but not that bad. I saw maybe one or two spots with bubbles...i didn't expect much for $500. It's actually pretty impressive. Looks like a new car. i'll pull some pics for the before shots..then you'll understand..haha

looks good man, should've taken off some body stuff so they wouldn't have painted over them, like the "H" and mud guards.

Yeah, I agree there...

....I only wonder now how long it'll last on the car...?

But it "LOOKS" like a swingin deal for 500.

thanks for all the comments...i wish the mud guards and emblem weren't painted...i was utterly surprised with the outcome...the guy at the place said business was really slow. So i guess he was aching for work.
