Any of the big distributors should have one or be able to get you one.

I got a really nice one from Nippon a few years ago for $500 shipped to Ohio.

It looks like they've changed their prices a bit though....

Seriously, $950 with ECU and LSD tranny is quite a deal. $600 with regular tranny isn't bad either. See if they will sell a longblock if you already have an Si. You may not want the ZC ECU anyway, unless you can find someone to chip it, because it has a speed limiter that seems kinda low, around 110 MPH I have heard. It does have the best fuel maps though

Yeah, I should have added.... skip the trans and the ECU if you have an Si and are looking to go cheap. If you spend $950 on a ZC with ZC trans you'll be dissappointed. If you spend $600 to have it shipped to your place and use the Si trans, 89 teg ECU (don't pay more than $50 for it) you'll be pleased I think. You should be able to run low 15s with that combo.

ZC trans = Slow in comparison to the Si trans.

ZC with Si final drive is supposed to be good though.

I thought the ZC trans was geared more for acceleration than the Si trans

Not really... the specs are out there, but I don't have them handy. The ZC has closer ratio but higher final drive. All factors the same I'd estimate about 2 - 3 tenths of a second slower through the quarter with the ZC.

the ZC has a 3.888 final drive versus the Si with a 4.250 final drive.

the ZC ratios are closer together:
3.250
1.944
1.346
1.033
0.878

versus the Si ratios:
3.250
1.894
1.259
0.937
0.771

i have the ZC 1-5 gears and the Si final drive. i like it alot...and the quaife helps, too!

I'd say, for street driving, definately get the JDM ZC ECU...

I have driven the ZC with almost all of the available ECU's, and the midrange fuel maps are great!! But dont ever expect to get more than 27 mpg in the city, I tell you!!!

Besides, who cares about the 115 mph limiter unless you're dragging at the strip, nd even then, in order to get to 115, you'll need to go turbo, in which case you'll probably be running something other than a stock ZC ECU.

But if you do get an si ECU, make sure you have 90 or 91. There is definately a difference in the midrange power.

Hopes this confuses you...

On the highway, I've actually gotten over 38 mpg because I'm running a dx tranny (which will match nicely with my turbo, eventually)

But in teh city, I normally get 27, tops. The ZC ecu dumps fuel at WOT. Its great for performance, bad for my pocketbook!

well I got 34-35 at 70, at 80 I got 24, with an Si Trans at the time. And the real difference in 5th with a Si and a ZC trans is negligable. Final is Highter but 5th is lower and its a wash. But the Si final in a ZC trans with give you lower gearing across the board and better excelleration, but I have heard with a HF or CX 5th you can have the lower gearing 1-4 and the higher 5th will ballance out the lower final for lower reves and econimy on the hiway. I just haven't had the ***** to take apart my new ZC trans yet.
