Default should i get a zc motor

dumb question, but the zc motors are cheaper than B series and i was wondering if it would be a waste to get a zc

Don't waste your time unless 1. you just want a little extra go or 2. you are poor. Zc would be cool for a beater. If you wnt to go the performance route leave the zc's for someone else!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a ZC engine. My 1st swap was a DOHC ZC. I loved that engine and it made decent power compared to the D16A6 that I previously had. It bolts right into any 88-91 CRX/Civic and can use any D series tranny. It's very cost efficiet. If you want more power then I would recommend a B series swap, but remember there are a lot more cost in a B series swap.

in a 91 crx si? i'd say the zc is a possible choice. yes it is underpowered compared to the b16 (~30 hp difference), but it all depends on personal preference really. is it worth the extra money for 30hp? that's up to u. as Hondasaurs pointed out there are more costs in a b series swap.

edit: don't forget to consider aftermarket support for the engine. as well as potential gains with the added base hp. just a few extra things to consider.
