Car wont start after plug wires install
i just swaped out my spark plug wires for some new ones and my car started up fine, ran fine for about 5-10 minutes, then all of a sudden it starts to die out, i couldnt give it any more gas and when i pulled over it stalled out. when trying to start it back up i heard a wierd noise come from the motor that at this time i cannot describe but after poping the hood i noticed one of the wires poped off of the distributor. i plugged it back in and the car cranks but wont turn over. ive checked for fuel and its flowing good. ive removed my dist. cap and the rotor spins so that means my timing belt isnt shot correct? i also changed out the spark plugs because they looked kinda fried but still no fire up. any suggestions? p.s. i also have a new battery
You are sure you have the correct firing order for the plug wires? And also, if they are MSD wires, they are infamous for coming out of the distributor under load. Make sure they are totally pushed in.
well i cracked the haynes open and from what i saw, i think the firing order was wrong although i switched them out one by one. it was showing for a 94 GSR the bottom left dist. outlet should be for cylnder one then the next cylinder increases as you go clockwise. is this correct?
any info or test's i can do on why it doesnt start? i had somebody crank the car while grounding a sparkplugwire with a spark plug in it. i saw no electrical bridge come out. does that mean i have no spark or should i try it with no spark plug in the wire?
