Default 5inch Rpm Tach, where did you guys mount yours...

sup guys, just got a free 5inch VDO Xtreme tach from my buddy and i'm planning on installing it. I know, why not get a stock cluster? Well had a rare SIR (canadian) cluster but sold it, i'm running a stock 96-00 civic dx cluster which comes with no rpm reading. Not being able to read my motors rpm really bugs.

Most people mount there tachs on the left side of the driver side right above the air vent, i wanted some other ideas of where to mount it.

Take out your airbag and mount in the center of the steering wheel.

Only the Honda fegs would flame an instrument that is actually useful b/c it's not aesthetically appealing to them.

<--------Not surprised.

+1

Over on the colum would be dope but easiest would be on the left side of the dash.

Well, if you already have a tach, sell it to someone and spend the money on something useful.

The tach is $280 new, so even used you could sell it for enough to pick up an EX or SI cluster

This is a good idea man.

But to your question, I would mount it left of the cluster, in that corner.

me too

just go to a junkyard and find a cluster with a tachometer in it already and you wont look like a ricer, and get pulled over for looking like one

I'm willing to bet if the face of that gauge said Spoon or Mugen and cost 4x as much people would be masturbating furiously.

I'd rather rock an automatic EX cluster with a tach than those ridiculous ricer monster truck looking things

Mount it anywhere except for like ontop of the actual dash. Selling it and getting a stock cluster with the tach would be sweet. But if you wanna keep well its your tach.
