Default help! my axles are stuck

So my axle is hella bad and I'm changing it. Problem is is that the existing axle is so rusted that its stuck on the hub and won't come off at all. We tried hammering it but that didn't work. Help!

stuck inside the hub? Release both ball joints and try more hammering. It should slide right out.

Yea, like the other guy said, let it soak numerous times in some WD40, maybe even over night. I've had to take out some pretty tough ones and that's really the best way to do it. Also, if you are going to be replacing it get some good swings in on it and don't worry about mushrooming the threads on the end.

thanks! but the problem now is that because i kept hammering it, i kept missing and hitting the studs lol. so now i might just replace the entire hub. i even torched it to see if maybe heat would losen it up but that didnt do a damn thing. wd40 barely helped too. shiet!

u can also use your socket to hammer thats much safer. turn the axle bolt back on but not all the way in. then put the socket on it and hammer the socket. the nut will help push the axle loose, more surface area for punishment hahaha. works for everytime. of course still soak it with wd 40. this way u dont mushroom out your axle and also harder for u to hit your studs. i hope u understand what i mean

You should have put the lug nuts on if you kept hitting the studs...

I usually take my screwdriver or punch and stick it in the dimple in the center on the end of the axle shaft and use that to tap it out.

But then again my axles have been out numerous times, so I have no trouble getting mine out.

PB blaster does work much better than WD 40, it de=greases, not just lubricates. Secondly you should have put the lugs on if you were going to hammer on the threads. Good luck with the hub though.

Couldn't have said it better my self. WD is more or less just a lubercant. Def. get some PB and a good hammer.
