Default People who had experience with this...

Ok well heres another thread like this. Today I bought a USDM obd2 b16a2 with 55k miles off my neighbor who has been a good friend my whole life. It supposly has GS-R cams. I drive a 95 Integra LS, and thats what I think I want to swap it in to. Or no? I know the motor is obviously made for an ek. how much of a difference would it make between a true GS-R motor and the Si motor that I have now. Performace wise..etc..

Also another thing, what do I need to do the swap since my 95 is obd1 and it's an obd2 motor, this is my first swap ever, so i'm not sure on a lot of things that are probably pretty common to know, any advice, or comments would be appreciated..thanks.

you are asking a question thats going to have arguments over. Pretty soon it won't even be about your car. But here is my OPINION. B16 in an 3rd gen intergra, you won't like it unless you drop in a ton of money. First off, very limited hp/tq. Gsr on the other had gives you better numbers and you'd be starting off with better displacement. But like i said, its all preference. and if you want to know what you need, just search for it on ht. Theres millions of forums about it. I'm not going to sit here and tell you what you need to do when it's been said a thousand of times already.

yeah take the b16a2 head and put it on your LS block. plenty of info on this board can be found to walk you though all the details.

Ur going to miss your TQ. it may even feel slower than the b18a. Ur best bet would be to go lsvtec (use the b16 head n tranny) and you'd be ALOT more happy!! as far as the OBD situation, make it easy on urself n sell the obd2 distributor, get a obd1 dizzy so it all plugs up, then ull need a OBD1 p28 ECU n ur set..good luck..

if u make the move to go LSV look into the golden eagle lsvtec conv. kit <--good price

O yea, if u do go LSV make sure u use the water pump/oil pump from the b16

Put the B16 in and drive it while you build the LS block.

Chris Rado has a B16 in his Integra (3rd gen, dont know what year or trim) that he uses on the track (road course).
