Default Any Insight on my bumpy torque curve?

Both power and torque numbers are nice at peak...but the torque has weird dips. It looks like the 2nd dyno got rid of some of them, but still a dip in there.

I forgot my dyno sheet for the second tune, but I superimposed my new torque curve in paint...and it's actually a pretty close pictoral representation of what the torque looked like.

AFR is 13.1 to 13.3 at WOT across the board. Intake cam +2, Exhaust 0 or -1, can't remember what we left it at. Timing backed off some.

B. Crower stage 2 Cams, Crower V/T, 2.07" Exhaust, DC 4-2-1 Header, Skunk2 I/M, B&M FPR, AEM 2.78" SRI...Tuned on Uberdata by Derick and Brian at Walls Rod & Custom.

1st Tune using phearable.net basemap and B&M FPR Only.

2nd Tune w/ Upped redline to 7500rpm and Uberdata. Made a few more horse this time.

How peculiar, your torque resembles a “V” formation...MY GOD! THAT’S IT! YOUR CAR IS TALKING TO YOU THROUGH THE DYNO! IT WANTS VTEC!!!

Nice numbers, no idea why you have such a huge dip though.

One might think it's the tuner, but he did everything perfectly lol. He has my Air/Fuels at very safe levels all across the board, and it's making insane power for the setup I have.

Next tune I'll try to play with the cam gears a bit more, because we only adjusted them once.

Also the overall shape of the torque is also weird. usually the graph shows a more horizontal torque curve that cuts through the horsepower curve. It might just be the scale at which the Torque numbers are on the Y-Axis on this particular graph.

In general I wouldn't think so. Another guy on SHO has my exact same setup with these Cams and he has a normal power curve. He only made 163whp, but he left the cams gears at 0-0, and he's just using the APEXI SAFC Hack.

It could be some back-pressure from my teeny exhaust and the small collector on the DC Header.

I don’t think it’s your cams, I have a similar setup and I don’t have that drastic of a dip.

How much power did you gain from the cam gears btw?

I'm not 100% sure how much I gained from the slight adjustment. The 2nd time I went to tune, I upped the redline to 7500, but I still only dyno'd to 6900rpm like the first time.

With the gears adjusted, I made the same power (+/- 0.5whp) about 150rpms sooner. I would expect peak power to have been 4-5whp higher if I took it to redline. But note, on the FPR tune, AFRs spiked to 14.3...so I'm probably losing power just by running my car at the much safer 13.1-13.3.

So the gears negated the loss of running richer, and gave me the same power slightly earlier, and it keeps pulling all the way to 7500rpms (7800 on the tach).

Cartune...
Oh, with my bolt-ons, I should be making 150whp. No clue how my car is so fast. I have a 2.07'' Exhaust whereas I need a 2.5. I have a 2.78'' SRI whereas I should have a nice 3''. I need at least an ITR 4-1 with a 2.5'' collector as apposed to my stock 4-2-1 Ceramic DC.

My most current plans are either P30 Pistons & ARP Rods Bolts, or try a 50 shot of spray....pretty sure I could get away with a dry kit and 2 step cooler plugs, and if needed back up the timing.
