B20 vtec engine wont run right
hello, my name is Common Sense. Let's start at the beginning:

Answered your own question there champ.
If you REALLY did try your friends distributor off of his running car, and his didn't work... then the only other link between cylinders 2 and 3 is the spark plug cables; and cap/rotor. (which I'm assuming you changed out as well)

go through these steps, you have already done some of them. the basics are fuel and spark right?, so you have checked for spark, from what i picked up 1 and 4 have spark and 2 and 3 dont, lets leave that alone for now. fuel, to check just take all your plug wires off and crank the engine, then take the plugs out one by one and smell for fuel like Kevinz said. if you have fuel on all four cyclinder and still have spark on only two of them after changing out companants like wires, dizzy, etc. then you have to go up the "spark tree" , have you changed/customized your harness, if so re-check all of those areas, if all that is good then you should check your ECU. other things might be timing, though i dought it.
