Default Y8 head on a Z6 block

Ok, so I've been in the game for years... but I've never messed with a SOHC before. I'm looking for some simple answers if anyone knows..

My car is a 94 Civic Si hatch. Currently running the D16Z6 motor. CRX Si pistons and a Kamikaze header... other than that, bone stock. Runs ok.

My valve seals are bad. Smoke on decel and on engine braking. I have a 99 Y8 head from a Civic EX... what if I use that head?

I've heard that the cam angle @ TDC differs between the Z6 and Y8 heads. Can I do this or what?

Sure. But you'd be better off keeping the Z6 head.

Only good thing about the Y8 head is the chambers. The curved intake divider sucks for top end.

use the head, but stick with your obd1 manifold. You will not feel the difference between a z6 head and a y8. If you just want to know if it works, it does.

use the y8 cam, and then use my z6 distributor?

Z6 dist won't fit on the Y8 head.

Run the Z6 head.

Throw the Y8 cam in it.

Yeh, I've talked to DonF about the Y8 versus Z6 head, fix the Z6.

FYI the crx si pistons are called pm6's just a .6 bump in compression (switching to y8 2 layer is about the same bump in a stock z6)
