on my 2000 i used the stock mounting brackets even though the coil is upsidedown, and you dont need to slice the cables on the stock connector. the instructions arent too clear but the the cable the say is negative (forgot the color) is used and both of the other 2 cables are used to. I used simple wire connectors on the end of the wires coming out of the ss coil that slide right into the slots of the stock connector, make sure you use 2 cables coming out of your + side so you can connect it to both positive sides of your stock connector.

Another way would be eliminating the stock connector and joining the 2 positive wires together into the + side of the coil. same thing for - side just with the negative cables only. if you get confused call MSD thats what i had to do since i was confused about having 2 positive wires.

tried to post up a pic but cant figure this thing out, gimme your email if you want and ill send it to you.

btw, negative wire is green the other 2 yellow and yellow/black are positive

placing the coil facing your intake manifold and upside-down with the 2 screw-holes down, the holes will align with the holes on your factory bracket but you need to GENTLY expand the holes on the coil so the factory bolts will fit right through. Incase your wondering, no the connectors have never slid out, i decided not to cut the factory harness just in case i ever run into trouble with the msd coil and the 2 wires coming out of the + are sodered for better contact.

Thanks 98vtec

better spark = more power, it makes a small difference but putting it together with good cables and plugs you know your getting the most from that area.

why so sensitive? you think you know so much...well wup-de-do i could care less if you know something i dont know. If you do know so much maybe you could not be such an ******* and share it with everyone. this why i almost never log in to forums, people like you that think its fun to insult people from the safety of your home/work/where ever your computer is. all i did was answer a question, if you dont like my answer than come up with a better one. get a life dude.

Here is a better answer:

You have no proof that these bs modifications to the ignition system have "better spark" and make supposed more power. SO DON'T LIE ABOUT IT ON A FORUM.

Every time you post some made up bs, ten more dumb kids google MSD coil, read what you say, and are now armed with a false fact. You're only furthering the ignorance of people when you lie on a public forum. Please refrain from doing that in the future.

I didn't mean to come off as such an *** last night, but if you knew the number of people who join the board and get right to posting BS such as you did in that post is overwhelming. BTW, I could just as easily call you an ignorant idiot to your face, send me a plane ticket.

I've never seen one, and I believe I would have seen that. The only way this would do anything good for you is if your stock stuff was worn out.

Anthony did a test a few years ago to see if you really needed these things, and found out that they make no difference until about 450whp, at which point the OEM ignition system can no longer keep up.

It should be noted that OEM honda ignition parts are made very well, and MSD is somewhat "cheaper".

So SuperSlowH22, are you like bi-polar?

Although uncouth in his demeanor all gagz was trying to say was that the stock Honda ignition system is plenty fine enough. Next thing your going to say is ground kits make the uber power. Because HERE in THIS COUNTRY! You don't add inches to your dick! You get a life sentence for it!

Sorry had to throw that in, but again any gain would more than likely be negligable on most builds.

btw...i kinda accidently had a "dee dee dee" moment and touched the ground of the coil with the car on....trust me on this one: DONT DO IT...that **** hurts, left my arm numb for a few a minutes...lol

i get superslowh22's point, i was pretty pissed/offended by gags saying it was all bullshit but i understood his point too...all water under the bridge.

Nobody likes rumors being spread much like misinformation.

Sh*t companies wouldn't get business and therefor would not get to, or continue to build their cheap garbage products if people didn't support their product because in reality 50% of the stuff out there does NOT really do what people say* they do.

I'm trying now to research EVERYTHING rather than taking anybodies word for it.

Why didn't you disconnect your battery???? You can *** shiet up by doing that dink!

Smarten up man, we don't wanna have to help you troubleshoot electrical problems later lol. Now that would suck ***!!

Your lucky that didn't go through your chest from one arm to another arm. Your heart would have stopped.
