Default rough running b16

i got my b16 running in my crx now but i have a few little problems...first of all it seems to be running a little rough..i was thinking because it had some shitty gas in it before...but i did put half a tank of 94 in there and also some octane booster for the gas before. and then my radiator fan relay was broken so i spliced the wires together for now. so my fans are runnng when the car is running. in the morning it runs well. vtec kickes in and no check engine light. and then when i drive for a while, it comes up check engine light, #6 and vtec does not work. what could this be...please help.

try adjusting the screw on the throttle body and your throttle cable...find out what code 6 means and fix that.

the motor is used and you never know whats it been through, try gettin a tune up by changing out the spark plugs, rotor and cap.....maybe the fuel filter and pvc valve.

hope this helps

If the ecu doesn't receive info from the ect sensor,I think the motor will run weird.
Also, may have problem getting vtec lobe...

1000rpm seems high to me.
Mine is set at 750rpm.

HTH!

Check your coolant level and check your idle control valve also.

I would use the ATF trick to try and smooth things out first... It'll do your engine good, even if that's not the problem.

engine seems to run well now. i think it was just bad gas. but sometimes the vtec works and sometimes not. if the car is cooled off it works but if hot does not....i have a bad fan relay sensor ..not sure if that could be the prob. i have the two wires spliced together now so the fans come on when the car is on. im gonna hook em up to a toggle. i used my factory hf wiring harness and bought a sub harness from hasport. the plug with the red wire that goes into the back of the engne. is kinda loose...it does not plug in well. this might also be the problemmm...any help
