Ugh. Help me out with this electrical problem please.
After [re]installing a new DC short shifter for the 3rd time (never buy one they break), somehow I started blowing the PGM-FI fuse. This exact same thing happened to my old Blazer and I never could figure it out so I just sold the thing off.
The car wouldn't *fire* after the install so I checked the fuses, found the bad one on my first guess. On the fusebox it's labeled ACC IGN. 15A. Replaced it and pulled out of the garage then it blew. Fiddled around with the harnesses on the fuse and the PGM-FI relay, ecu, etc. Drove the car for a few minutes around the lot and all was well. Pulled out onto the street and punched it, and on the 1-2 shift there she blew. Whatever it was stayed shorted and I had to get a pull back to the garage (that Carbing strut bar is really giving me my money's worth, hooked the tow strap to it). Okay enough boring details.
Busted out the multimeter when I got the car back and of course the problem is gone. I absolutely HATE these intermittent electrical problems this is my 3rd car that's been plagued with them.
What's the deal, anyone had this experience, etc.?
Where does this circuit run? I think it goes to the PGM-FI main relay, and thru that the fuel pump, ecu, VSS circuit???? What the hell could be shorting out?
Is it coincidence that it started happening after I moved some wires behind the radio when I pulled it out?
Would someone do me a favor and measure the resistance from ground to the fuse?
Hope someone can help as I want to be able to attend a track event Monday.

You have the worst kind of problem there is , the intermittent problem. Its probably a loose connection somewhere, or your harness is rubbing up against a sharp surface and when the engine moves it grounds out.. My advice would be to check for continuity in the circuits where the fuses are blown.
Where does this circuit run? I think it goes to the PGM-FI main relay, and thru that the fuel pump, ecu, VSS circuit????
Get a Helms manual OR a cheapo manual from Discount Auto Parts, the Haynes manual for Acura Integras, they have electrical schematics in there.
What the hell could be shorting out?
A wire or connection somewhere..
Is it coincidence that it started happening after I moved some wires behind the radio when I pulled it out?
Probably not look into that.
Would someone do me a favor and measure the resistance from ground to the fuse?

Your problem is probably very simple so don't overlook the obvious. Good Luck

Found the ****.
2ndary O2, which has been damaged but operational for some time finally broke and wore enough that it was grounding out against the body.
So, I finally admit it, the Godspeed testpipe is crap The O2 bung just sticks out too far, and had broken the end of the O2 sensor within a few hunded miles. This was bound to happen sooner or later I guess.
Well at least now I can still roll Chad on monday
sack-who still think Ponzie is a good guy and misses all his help and info here

He FedEx'ed me a brand new V-AFC after I sent him my broken one a year after i bought it from him. I think he is an okay guy
Yea he rewelded my testpipe to the right length no questions asked. That's the only thing I've ever bought from him, but I've met him several times, he's a cool guy. IMO, he is one of the most knowledgeable members this board has ever seen.

i can think of 3 or 4 off the top of my head that are not only more knoledgable, but dont try to push their JDM ***** products on everyone as the only solution to a problem.......just an observation

For the record, I think AJR are some good guys, just wish they'd get over the JDM cizock they seem to be sucking..

Plus my speedo would take about 5 minutes to "warm up" It would not work the 1st min, so no VTEC. Then it would jump all over the place and finaly it would start to even out and work fine
Craig - Who thanks Kenji for helping him find the problem over the phone at Ceader Point
rectummetalcurrency - Hmmm must have been the signal wire that you shorted, mine the power wire.
I'll say it again, my customer service expereince with Dan was excellent. Sorry if not everyone feels that way.
No, he's not the biggest enigne builder/tuner here, but he is very knowledgable and knows his products better then any retailer here I've seen so far.

I remember asking him what rate springs Tein HA's came with.. he said "I don't know, I'll have to check and call you back." I never did get a call back! Excellent!
-Dave, who wonders if anyone can miss the sarcasm?
