installing y8 intake manifold on y7

Default installing y8 intake manifold on y7

alright im bout to install a y8 intake manifold onto my y7 block. but i dun have the stock intake arm so im just goin to put on a aftermarket intake on. what i wanted to kno is am i suppose to get a ex intake or a dx intake? i kno this is a noob@$$ question therefor imma noob.

thanks man. thought it might be different since one is vtec and one is not.

They are NOT the same. The dx (y7) has the throttle body in a vertical position, whereas the ex(y8) has the tb in a horizontal position. You need the intake for the y8.

CX/DX trim is equipped with a d16y7 in 96-00 so to answer you NO a dx intake will not work.

you need an EX or even an SI one will work.

you can use a DX/CX/LX intake if you buy it for a civic between the years of 88-95
