there would be no need for the nitrous, but, you should get the block resleeved, with thicker cast iron sleeves inside the honda casting. then get some 9 to 1 forged pistons, lightweight rods, and ideally, get the crank knife edged, then have the whole rotational assembly balanced. this would include the flywheel and crank pulley as well as everything else inside the block. unless you really love the d series motor, or you have the turbo kit already, i would think on a whole different level. a turbo motor needs to be launched in boost in order to make a lot of power off the line, this means that traction is going to be very hard to achieve. not only traction, but turbo lag makes it difficult to autocross and road race. almost every single honda road racer stays naturally aspirated for a reason. that reason is that N/A makes more reliable power, in a more linear curve. you need the power to be there when you hit the gas pedal, not a half of a second later when the boost is building.

engine management is another issue. it will take some complicated equipment to run the motor properly, this means you will spend a lot more money. honda ecu's cannot sense boost, which means that standalone is a more likely option.

i suggest installing a B16A in your car. keep it naturally aspirated, and you have a much better starting point. you will be able to beat or hang very closely to single cam turbo's with very simple bolt on's and a flywheel.

honda has made only a handful of turbocharged motors, like in the "Life" (japanese only hatchback) and it is obvious why. honda specializes in naturally aspirated motors for mass production. i would take honda's expertise to heart and run the motor the way honda meant it, N/A.

i would welcome a debate on this topic, please reply.

the thing is that i would swap in a b16 eninge but it is way to damn expensive. I can get nos for 700 canadian and a b16 engine tranny and mounts goes for 2800 canadian.......... thats the thing.

Every one talks of the engines cheap but I have yet to find a place to get one cheap.

Also i guess i could weld my mounts since im a competant mechanic. Wouldnt be bad at all with the right tools and time.

Where to get cheap b16 engine in canada,.

Also a b20 would be nice too or a b18b but where??????????

I got my ZC engine from Redshift Racing down in Vancouver....a lot off ppl from the interior of BC got theirs from there..... www.redshift.ca it looks like they are changing their name but as long as its the same people you can't go wrong....Their website lists the B16a, ZC and F20a but if you call them you can find out exactly which motors they have and how much they are going for..
