Default Question about driveshaft or Halfshaft?

Can worn or torn halfshatf or driveshaft cause excessive vibration or humming that gets louder as u pick up speed? I have a 1995 acura integra gsr, and it humms really loud, at first I taugth it was my tires but I just got brand new ones and still doing the same. How can I tell I need a new halfshaft? Anyway appreciate all the help

Yes, bad CV's will cause vibration. Mine started to go bad after 6 or 7 years. I replaced them with Driveshaft Shop Level 0 Axles and the problem I had with "clunking" on acceleration has since disappeared as well as feeling hella smooth. If you ever take them off, try twisting them by hand at the shaft and splined ends, there should be no torsional slop.

It's possible, I just replaced mine when I did my suspension overhaul.

Vibration can be caused by a bad CV joint. If any of your CV boots are ripped and the joint has lost all grease and run dry, replace the axle. Bad CV joints typically make a clicking noise through turns.

Humming is more often caused by wheel bearings. If you have an open differential, try chocking off a wheel while the car is on a lift to isolate the noise.

Clicking is associated with bad outer CJ joints. The inner CV joints are a totally different type of joint, and will cause extreme vibrations under load when they get worn.
