hey guys! finally got my 07 s2! really excited! one question though...i never drove a car that has vtec before, cuz my eg was a CX. Iono if its just me but i dont feel it when it hits vtec, or im not sure if my s2's vtec is not workin cuz i dont feel that lil jolt that ppl say, am i trippin?
Vtec isn't like a turbo or nitrous dude..lol I only really feel it cause I am expecting it. Most ppl that are in my car only notice the sound change. It is most likely you are expecting too much. But if there is no difference at all maybe take it to the dealership and ask them. *shrugs* G/L

They say AP2 VTEC is a little "watered down" as far as the switch over effect. You should still notice it. Try taking the lid off the airbox. You'll definitely be able to hear it.

Iduno...i can damn sure tell when mine switches on in my S2000. I cant really tell in my GSR..but that hits at like 4500...and it has the stock box. I could tell when mine switched on my AP1 when it was stock...and I can DEFINITELY hear it now with my V2.
I could feel the car pull much harder even when it was stock. The V2 doesn't make much of a difference...but you do notice more because of the noise it makes.
The car should pull a LOT harder in VTEC.

yea see thats the thing, i dont really notice that jolt or pull....the acceleration is faster, maybe.., but it feels almost the same as if it was before it hits vtec. the sound just sounds like any car at high rev

take the airbox cover off and redline it. You will know right away, if you don't hear the crossover, try unplugging the map sensor, cleaning the connection, and putting it back on

but it's an 07....
OP: If something was wrong, and your VTEC wasn't operating...your car would have a check engine light on. If your MAP connection wasn't correct, you'd have MUCH bigger problems than VTEC not operating.
I'm sure VTEC is coming on. You just might not be able to hear/feel it for whatever reason. Try taking off the airbox lid so you can atleast hear it. It'll make you feel better.

thanks for correcting me with mis-information. poor MAP sensor connections are an extremely common problem, with the most common symptom being hesitation and lat vtec engagement. It also usually does not trip a code. However since it is an 07 its probably just not that noticable

i just tried it out again today, and am happy to find that my vtec is workin =D it does crossover more smoothly than the ap1 i noticed.
another question, is it normal to feel your clutch vibrate a little bit when you let off the throttle (while in gear of course) ?
