Default blox intake manifold?

alright i have a blox intake manifold on my 95 gsr witch is currently in my hatch...i have a question i was told that since gsr have the butterflies when you switch the manifolds the car wont run right unless with a chipped ecu? i have raced stock gsr's and they beat me ? so im begining to think its true ..since both butterflies must be open to gain all hp ..maybe since im running the stock ecu it wont run like it should?? cmon everyone chime in ...would getting a chipped ecu fix this?

Running an ITR ecu would solve this problem, but the better solution is to have a chipped ECU with a GSR basemap, eliminate the dual butterfly, and set the VTEC engagement point at a reasonable single level.

wel yes i have a cel but havent checked it yet to see what codes are being thrown..but for sure one of them is for o2 sensor since the gsr o2 is in the cat and im running a test pipe so im just going to chip my ecu to solve that problem

What in the **** is wrong with you people?

You ask for help - you can be helped easier if you tell people what codes you're throwing. "My car sounds like an atom bomb during detonation, it's throwing a CEL, any ideas" - ---- Wow - way too many posts like that.

Check the code, be SURE it's the secondary O2 code, then take it from there.

In the mean time, if the manifold is for a GSR, it should have the IAB's in it - if they've been removed - then I don't know - b/c the GSR relies heavily on IAB's much like it does VTEC to gain its optimum HP.

You don't need the ECU Chipped - I know that.

X2, the Secondary butterflies are there for a reason, from honda. Removing the butterflys while running an ECU that not only reads for them, but has a map specifically designed to the point of them being there.... thats like tossing a wrench in the works.
