Default Effects of winter on carbon fiber?

Hey guys, I am contemplating doing numerous carbon fiber swaps on my 92 Si. I'm wondering if i should do it now or wait until spring. I live in Minnesota which has brutal temps and conditions from October until March. Would this affect carbon fiber body parts such as hoods, lips, fenders, mirrors, etc.?

I know Im in Va, so its a little different. But my CF hood has been on my car for almost 3 years without a problem, (Before I owned it, First winter coming up for me) Just think how many things are made of fiberglass wihtout a problem during winter

I might be wary of salt, but taking care of the parts properly should be enough.

So if you can, find out if the parts have a gelcoat or a clearcoat. This will help to determine the correct way to take care of them. A clearcoated item would be taken care of like automotive paint and a gelcoated part would be taken care of like boat paint.

The care is basically the same, it's just the products are different.

For clearcoated items, use a polish, glaze and wax that you would use on the rest of your paint.

For gelcoated items, use a polish, glaze and wax for marine paint. Meguiar's has a marine line that comes in blue bottles. That is what I would recommend for gelcoated items.

Remember what each product does.

Polish = Clean
Glaze = Enriches color and hides very small scratches
Wax = Protects your work and the product

Clay barring your hood (for example) would also make the item easier to take care of and will make it smooth as glass.
