Default Helping an accident victim!

Heres the situation:

I have a 99 civic ex and a 95 celica st. I recently got rear ended in my civic and the old lady completely totalled the whole back end half of my poor baby. Now the situation is that I have the celica motor ready to blow on me. Is it possible to swap the civic engine(y8) to my 95 celica st?!?!?!? I have searched high and low on the net but everyone keeps telling me to just ask you guys.

Help is much appreciated!

lol trust me man. A D16y8 is slow in enough in a honda. Don't make your celica even worse with a D motor in it. I know that didn't answer your question, but it will probably take a lot of fab work. What i'm trying to say is get another honda...

You could do it but youll be down grading from a 1.8 to a 1.6. Youll have to rewire the whole front, custom fab some engine mounts, and axles. But yea you could do it.

I dont have the time to be parting things out, just want to know if it is possible to switch the engine so i can have a running car to get me from a to b. Is it hard to do this kind of swap? is it going to cost much? thanks

You could probably sell the civic to someone who would part it out and hopefully get enough to fix the celica engine. It probably sounds like its gonna go but alot of times a little work can make it good to go. It would be less work than trying to put the civic engine in the celica.

Then you dont have time to be custom fabbing all the **** to get a Honda engine into a Toyota

Either get a celica engine, rebuild it, or buy a new car.

if you dont have time to be parting out the civic or selling the celica then you shouldn't have time to swap the motors.....think about it bro haha

are you not getting money from her insurance? if she rear ended you, provided you didn't do something stupid to get rear ended, it should be her fault and you'd get everything paid for.
I know here in KY if you rear end someone, situation doesn't matter, you're at fault.

nah, it was both our faults the cop said cause I passed on the right then the person went to make a right and she followed me and i slammed on the brakes and she hit me from behind...... so the cop says its and even draw cuase i didnt hit the person i was passing. I mean, i do have time cause i could use my bros car but i just dont feel like dealing wit the civic. Im really interested in doin a hybrid swap for the hell of it.... Anyone know a link to a forum or something from someone who has done this before? help appreciated
