DPFI>>MPFI, Need Help
K, well i did a MPFI swap for my cousin for his birthday, i finished the swap here at my house last fri/sat.
the thing is, the car is still running dpfi on the si motor cause i didnt know how to rewire to mpfi plus he needed the car for school, so i couldnt continue. the car runs fine, a lil exhaust leak cause i didnt tight it up, no biggie.
now its been a week, and ive studied and im ready to do the wiring.
i used this as a reference
http://www.angelfire.com/d20/h....html
im pretty sure i got everything down, but i have some questions
from the article "Also, the TPS and EACV plugs are too short and they'll have to be extended."
can someone post a picture of what those are, im not quite sure what it is. also expain what exactly to extend and how long (wire on the harness?)
another thing is the injectors, and im still using the 2 plugs from the DX harness or do i cut them off the SI harness?
heres some pictures.
the car

his engine bay with Si engine and DFPI maifold

DX dizzy

what i have so far
Si harness

with the 4 injector plugs

SI dizzy

Resistor box (i cut it off)

Si manifold

extra wires and heatshrink

on the DPFI, which of those plugs are the 3 leftovers?

i have all tools.
u can quote the pix and circle/point out the things to answer my question, much help is appreciated

just wondering why you would say you would do something you have no clue how to do?????? i read thru one write up for a month before i did mine. and it turned out great.
only ever use this write up, read it over and over and you should have to ask those questions.

cause my brother knows how to do it, and he was guiding me through it. and wiring part he told me to use the Dx manifold for now, cause my cousin was in need of the car and i ran out of time, so we got it running perfect after the swap with dpfi.
bro told me to do some research and learn it. and so i did, and not im ready to do the wiring which i am right now as we speak, that link u gave me, helped my perfect, thanks

My advice would be to print out as many how to's on the dpfi to mpfi converstion as possible! I found that to be the best cause not one of them seemed to be totally complete to me. Also another time saving thing I did was find an extra dpfi harness and make the harness before you even start the swap, so you won't feel rushed to get the car going.
But who knows....just take your time, use solder and heat shrink

i click the key on and its still throwing code 10, i cant seem to find a pix of the backside of the Si manifold anywhere
10- Accord Civic CRV CRX Del Sol Odyssey Prelude
85-98 86-98 97-98 85-91 93-97 95-98 85-98
IAT Sensor (Intake Air Temperature)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
i have this extra wire that doesnt plug to anything on the dx harness..
heres the pix on the backside of the manifold.

then i found the plug that suppose to go to that wire on the manifold on the Si harness...which i needa cut out and wire to?

fah-q, i just dont know what that sensor is suppose to connect to, ive been up all day/night posting and noone post back, yea a lil impatient, schools 2morrow and i need the car done so my cousin can go to school.
i have everything plugged in, and wire as suppose to, now my brother is telling me to depin and match the engine harness to the harness to the ecu, that was not stated in any of the threads of mpfi swaps. which threw me off the edge. plus its my 1st time doing this and i needa learn somehow. car is still throwing code 10 and not starting.
i need to repin all the damn harness from the engine to match the ecu harness, i need a diagram.

Who cuts all the wires off...you shouldn't have touched your cousins car! The dpfi to mpfi swap is pretty straight forward....way to screw it up cocksmith! So did you buy him a bus pass since you f'ed his car all up?

from 3:25am-12pm, thats about 8hr 35 mins i sat and waited for a respond on how to fix code 10 and figure out what that wire i post about was. thats all..i needed it asap cause monday was school. i was in the process of learning and didnt reconize the damn wire and unfimilar on how to fix code 10.
i have taken out all the damn DX harness with si plugs and got a new si harness which will be going into the car. more easier rather than reading the post stating that working with the Dx harness is easier than an Si harness.
thanks to noones help besides janz3n for the link.
cocksmith? is that what u guys are dreaming about? (out of all vocabularies)

althought these guys are right about searching i'll still help you.
that sensor in your picture doesnt need to be hooked up and i dotn think your dx harness even has the plug for it son dont plug it in at all. and you might want to disconnect and plug the coolant lines going to it.
if code 10 is iat then try plugging in the extra plug you have and see if that fixes it. but you already took out the harness so i guess this doesnt help much.

? my brothers crx is a dx and he has an si harness on his engine and all he did was run like 2 extra wires and repin the harness to the dx, same thing with his wagon..worked fine..had the harness for like 7 years already, i dont know how he does it..
stated rywire "A HF or Si Harness can not be used on a DX or STD Chassis."

i wish i could be we need the car, plus we are out of money right now, if i had 160 i would have drove to rywire down the road and get it done there, rather than doing it ourself
