Default Does this amp sound MUDDY or is it just me? A8000T

I am waiting for my JL 500/1 to come in but I had my brothers Audiobahn A8000T laying around so i tried it out and wow, it sounded muddy except for the really low frequencies.

I was using an Infinity Reference 1052w to test it. Any of the frequencies that were not really low frequencies didnt play worth a crap; you could barely hear the sound. Granted that its only a single 10", but still i have had better luck with other setups with this same sub and a different amp.

Does anyoen else agree that it is a muddy amp? Will my 500/1 sound a lot better with this sub(maybe 2, parallel to get 4 ohms). The sub is correctly enclosed; its exactly in line with the manufactures suggested internal volume for a sealed enclosure for that particular sub

alright i was hoping i wasn't the only one thinking that; i was not impressed by this amp AT ALL. Hopefully my 500/1 will sound a lot better when i get it. I only put this in my car since last night i installed my power wires and had an extra amp and sub laying around in the garage.

The best part i like about the amp is when i move the sensitivity ****, at random times it makes the sub make a loud "thump!" sound.

wow, i totally agree with you now more than before....i had to take the amp apart, take the circuit board out and resolder some broken solder points because it suddenly stopped working yesterday

Now it works but, those solder jobs are pretty half-assed ....well the factory ones, the ones i redid look good
