How much power can I run from a totally stock battery alternator etc.
I was wondering how powerful an amp my 97 civic could handle with the stock battery, alternator etc.
Also, I would prefer not to have dimming headlights
Thanks!!!

dimming lights is all based on how much you pull when...this is a very impossible question to answer,
you could bump with a large amp and still dimm on tough hits (try a capacitor for this) so my advice for you is to just get the amp you like/need to run your system, if you dim, by a cap off ebay for like $60 and you'll be fine

but no worries if I was runnign like 750 watts rms off the stock battery?? It wouldnt wreck the battery or alternator or anything??

I wouldn't run a system w/ the car off (just on that battery).. that would drain and eventually kill the battery pretty quick.. as for the alternator.. it depends how much power your system draws plus what else you ahve on (lights, a/c, whatever else, etc)... I've run well over 1,000 watts ( 2 amps, head unit, DSP/EQ, Changer and have had headlights, a/c blower on high, etc on) on my cars w/o any problems and I've had this for years.. i do have 1 farad capacitors buss barred though... so when the bass hits it draws from the caps and puts less strain on the alternator and battery / charging system...
