I have a friend who has a 2004 acura TL V6 and we were looking into the comptech supercharger, but wanted to see what was out there along the lines of a turbo kit. The kit DOES NOT have to be all put together.

SO is anyone running a turbo TL (of the newest generation) on either the auto, or 6speed tranny. and if so, how much did you spend, and what did you have to do. And yes i did search with no succsess.

 

hey man you will have a hard time finding anything comptech cause they went out of business unless you go used i havent seen a turbo kit on any 04-08 tl i have seen it on a 03 cl-s but you will be looking at around 2500-4000

 

awesome thanks for the info. You can still get the supercharger from some online retailers that still havnt sold out. How are the auto trannies on these cars? I used to have an 00' accord coupe ex v6 auto and the trannies on those are ****. would the trannies on these cars be able to hold the extra power the turbo would produce?

I've seen 2 turbo 06 TL's 6 speed and 1 auto at HIN. do not turbo an automatic, you loose money and time, as with manual you get your moneys worth. the auto slips at 8k and boost is laggy as expletive well it still pulls

 

Exactly how high does the auto v6 rev on its own (in standard D without "shifiting" it yourself)

yo just relax ur nerves, i've seen auto on 10 psi all day pushes 297 hp. and i've seen same setup on 10 psi stock tl type s push 321 on 10 psi

 

type-s's start out with more power to begin with, so thats probably the added numbers your seeing, plus gearing is a factor im sure.

BTW my nerves are fine, i was simply asking for an explanation

 

The type S also has a 3.5 liter as opposed to a 3.2 liter motor.
